HARVEY -- Linda Nutz, 90, Harvey, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 28, 2002, at the Harvey nursing home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mennonite Brethren Church, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.
Linda was born Jan. 29, 1912, on the family farm southwest of Harvey. She was the daughter of John C. and Katherina (Delk) Seibel. Linda grew up and attended school near the family farm. Linda married Edwin Schimke on June 15, 1930, in Harvey. They lived in Harvey. Edwin died Sept. 6, 1970. Linda married Fred Nutz on Aug. 2, 1975, in Harvey. Linda and Fred lived in Harvey. Fred died Feb. 12, 2000.
Linda was a gifted musician, seamstress, cook, storyteller, caregiver and friend. Linda played the piano and organ for church events for most of her life, until her stroke in 1997 took that ability away from her. She found joy in work, whether it was housework, quilting, finishing woodwork, hanging wallpaper or taking care of a grandchild. She was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church of Harvey.
Those grateful to share in Linda's life were three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and Marvin Martens, Fairview, Okla., Carol and Jerry Martens, Fergus Falls, Minn., and DyAnn and Paul Ingebretson, Bismarck; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Jane Nutz, Minot; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Edwin Schimke and Fred Nutz; her daughter, Dorothy Faul; and 16 brothers and sisters.
