First Lieutenant United States Army

He was originally buried at Oak Hill Cemetery after his death in 1887. His body was removed to Arlington Cemetery on April 12, 1906.

1872 Graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served in the Indian Wars with the 9th United States Cavalry from 1872 to 1886.

May 7, 1887
First Lieutenant Thomas C. Davenport, Fourth Artillery died at St. Elizabeth's Insane Asylum at Washington yesterday. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in June 1872 and was made Second Lieutenant, Ninth Cavalry June 14 of that same year. He served on the frontier and in the Chief Signal Office. He was promoted to be First Lieutenant June 28, 1878 and was transferred to the Fourth Artillery on February 8, 1886.
