Widowed - Russel George Bassett
Mrs. Lauretta Stewart Bassett, 89, died Thursday, November 10, 1977 in the North Big Horn Hospital after a short illness. She had been a patient there for 3 days. She was born December 27, 1887 in Glendale, Utah, the daughter of Boyd M. and Lauretta Jane Stewart. She and her husband farmed in the Kane area for many years and after Mr. Bassett's death, she moved to Lovell where she has lived since. She married Russell George Bassett July 21, 1909 in Lovell, Wyoming. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as President of the Kane Relief Society for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Boyd E. and Joe S. both of Lovell; three daughters, Mrs. Edna Abbott of Lovell, WY, Mrs. Lois Brothers of Noxon, MT, and Mrs. LaVon Luck of Thermopolis, WY; one brother, Bryon Stewart of Lovell; one sister, Mrs. Una Guinn of Long Beach, CA; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lovell, WY Stake Chapel with Bishop Chester Christiansen officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
