Joe Wyrick, 63, of Ralls died Friday, January 14, 1994 in Lubbock's Methodist Hospital.

Services were held Sunday, January 16 in the Church of Christ, Falls with Vance Davis, minister, and Roy Shave, Church of Christ minister from Bellville, officiating. Burial was in the Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Billy Bob Wright, Vernon Roy, Eldon Nipp, Eddie Verett, Steve Verett, Davey Bell, Buz Poage and Whizer Arthur.

Mr. Wyrick was born on August 20, 1930 in Childress County. Joe Bob graduated from Wellington (Texas) High School with the Class of 1950.

He married Betty Guthrie on April 24, 1951 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. He moved to Ralls in 1964 from Maple.He was a member of Emma Church of Christ. He served two terms as mayor of Ralls. He owned and operated Ralls Delinting until 1978 and served on the Board of Directors.

He managed Ralls Co-Op Gin from 1964 to 1972. He served on the Ralls Ambulance Board in 1975 and was named Ralls' Man of the Year in 1983 by the Chamber of Commerce. He was a U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Kirt of Floydada; a daughter, Shannon Wideman of Lubbock; his mother, Lucille West and three brothers, Danny West, Oris West, all of Wellington and Drue West of Big Spring; a sister, Edalaine Neubauer of Colorado Springs, Colorado and four grandchildren.
