VALPARAISO, IN -- Lucile Banks, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2008 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN.
She was born in Valparaiso, IN on December 13, 1920 to the late Gordie and Mabel (nee Denny) Philips.
Lucile was a life long resident of Valparaiso and a member of the First Christian Church and Women of the Moose. She worked at the Valparaiso University Bookstore, managed Perkin's Restaurant, drove a school bus for the Valparaiso Community Schools and was a courier for the First National Bank.
Lucile is survived by husband, Joseph T. Banks of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Marlene (Jim) Harden of Meza, AZ; sons: Chuck (Barbara) Banks of Oak Hill, VA and Gary Banks of Valparaiso, IN; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Preceded in death by granddaughter, Breanne Banks and brother, Clyde Philips.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A Women of the Moose service at 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at the Dykes Funeral Home, 2305 N. Park Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN. Memorials my be made to Moose Charities. Arrangements made by Dykes Funeral Home, Inc.
