Josephine Kemp Evans, 89, of Amarillo died Monday, July 6, 2009.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Jerad Middaugh of Southlawn Assembly of God officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Dozier to Ben and Dina Neece. She grew up on the family farm near Dozier and graduated from Samnorwood High School in 1939.
She had lived in Amarillo since 1947, and worked for St. Anthony's Hospital for more than 15 years. Josephine was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Loyd Haskell Kemp, in 1967; her parents; her second husband, William Evans; three sisters; and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter, Ramona Martinez of Rowlett; a son, Jimmy Kemp and wife Trudy of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Gayla Lewis and husband Lane of Rowlett, Craig Molyneaux and wife Robyn of Salado, Holly Martinez of Addison, Chris Kemp of Denton and Crystal Moreno and husband Jacob of Amarillo; and six great-grandchildren, Daniel, Brandy, Ty, Christian, Abigail and Valenzuela.
