Samuel Alexander was the son of Robert Alexander and ___(Gibson) Alexander. He was born 12 Aug 1802, in Air Township, Bedford Co., PA. By occupation, he was a cabinet maker. He was a Ruling Elder in te Presbyterian Church of this place, and was much esteemed for the piety and integrity of his charachter.
He married ca 1829, in PA., Catherine Smith, daughter of David Smith. They had one daughter, Sarah Jane Alexander, who married James Cooper.
After Catherine's death, Samuel married Margaret Dickson, 26 April 1859, in Air Twp.,Fulton Co., PA. Samuel Alexander died in his late residence in this borough, McConnellsburg,PA., Sunday morning, 16 August 1869, at the age of 66 years, 0 months, 4 days.(sic) His burial was in McConnellsburg Presbyterian Cemetery, McConnellsburg, PA.
