In her one hundred third year, Erma Epsy Pace Petersen returned to her Heavenly Father 14 March 1998 from natural causes.

Born 29 September 1895 to Sidney Alexander and Lucy White Pace. Born and raised in Provo-Orem, she taught school at the Mountain and Spencer Schools.

Married Joseph Hyrum Petersen, 18 June 1924 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Served in Primary, Relief Society and other church positions. She served a Stake Mission in the East Provo Stake. The mother of four sons, Joseph Hyrum, Rex Harold, Lynn and Paul Robert. She and her husband raised fruit on their Orem and Provo farms. Her husband, Joseph, passed away 12 October 1960.

After her husband's death she did some traveling. She worked at Deseret Industries. Erma spent many hours crocheting beautiful baby dolls for her grandchildren and others. She is the last of her family of five brothers and four sisters. Sons, Rex and Paul and stepchildren, Parley Petersen and Dorothy Lefler preceded her in death.

She is survived by Joseph (Ruth), Provo; Lynn (LoRaine), Orem, UT; daughters-in-law Ellen Petersen, Honeyville, UT and Elna Petersen, Riverton, UT; 30 grandchildren; 115 great-grandchildren; 99 great-great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-great-grandchildren.

Our thanks to the wonderful folks at Stonewood Manor for the care they gave her, and to Connie Lemon for the personal care she gave to Erma.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., March 19, 1998 at 11 a.m. at the Edgemont 7th Ward Chapel, 555 East 3230 North, Provo. Friends may call on Wed., March 18, 1998 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Berg Mortuary, 185 East Center Street, Provo, and at the Ward Chapel one hour prior to services on Thursday. Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
