Ida L. Coleman, age 88, of Springville, passed away peacefully in South Jordan at the home of her daughter, Lisa Boyer, on June 27, 2009.
She was born June 7, 1921 in Kane, Wyoming to Joseph Merrill Lowe and Emily Beal.
She married George Arthur Coleman on November 15, 1939 in Provo. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple.
Ida retired from the Utah State Hospital after 20 years of service.
She loved to garden, quilt, read, bake, and do all kinds of handiwork, but most of all she loved her family. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church and was proud of her 30 years service in the Primary.
She is survived by five children: Eugene (Pat), Keith (Terrie), JoAnne (Alan Groo), Kevin (Laura), Lisa (Jim Boyer), 29 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and siblings: Gail, Roger, Allen and LuNell. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years and two sons Steven and Gerald (Judy), brothers Ivan and Shirl Lowe, and sister Gloria.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 12:00 noon at the LDS Chapel, 350 North 400 East, Springville, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, and on July 1, 2009 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the Church.
Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
