Mass of Christian burial for Dolores A. Flax, age 70 of Hill City, Kansas will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City with Father Don McCarthy as Celebrant. Mrs. Flax passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at her home in Hill City.

She was born November 7, 1937 in Hays, Kansas the daughter of Richard & Isabelle (Geist) Rupp.

She graduated from Ellis High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Alter Society in Hill City, the V.F.W. Auxiliary #9139 in Ellis, enjoyed crocheting, and reading cookbooks as well as spending time with her family.

On September 7, 1957 she married Paul J. Flax, Sr. in Ellis. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include her daughter Sharon Flax of Hill City; sons Paul J. Jr. and wife Julie Flax of Culver, Kansas, Bernard & wife Teresa Flax of Wichita; daughter-in-law Cheryl Rilinger of Garden City, Kansas, sister-in-law Joyce Rupp of Lochbuie, Colorado; sisters Mary and husband Frank Mermis of Hays, Alice and husband Paul Schrant of Walker, KS, Firma Jean & husband Sylvanus Rome of St. Peter, KS; grandchildren Brandy Goodwin of Dodge City, KS, Courtney Johnson of Wichita, KS, Cody Flax of Culver, KS, Kylie Flax of Culver.

Aadopted grandchildren Nicki Garrison of Oklahoma, Travis Garrison of Hill City, KS, April & husband Dick Butler of Zurich, KS; adopted great-grandchildren Paine Sutter of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, and Kaytlynn Butler of Zurich, KS.

Dolores was preceded in death by sons Gregory, January 5, 1987, twin infant sons Gerald and Derald, September 3, 1962, parents, Richard and Isabelle (Geist) Rupp, Brother, Francis Rupp, Brother and Sister-In-Laws, Bob and Verna Rupp and Marvin and Linda Rupp.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at the Stinemetz Funeral Home, Hill City, Kansas and from 6:30 Ð 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City, Kansas where a Christian Wake Service will be at 6:30. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am, Saturday October 4, 2008 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ellis, Kansas.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church or in the form of masses and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
