Birth: Jul. 29, 1867
Ozark County
Missouri, USA
Death: Apr. 25, 1939
Douglas County
Missouri, USA

Louisa's parents were John Art & Sara Jane (Bird) Driskell.

Louisa, age 18, married Henry H. Bell, 54, in Harrison, Boone Co, AR on March 6, 1886. She was Henry's third wife. He had several young children at this time.

Louisa & Henry had three daughters:
1. Alzona "Zona" - July 12, 1888
2. Mattie J. - January 20, 1890
3. Hattie - November 25, 1893.

Louisa & Henry were divorced in Douglas Co, MO on Aug. 25, 1903. Within five weeks after they were divorced, Louisa married George W. Berry in Douglas Co, MO on September 30, 1903.

Henry and Louisa lived in a large log house near Brixey at the head of Owens Hollow. Their farm was located east of the Brixey general store and just up the hill from his brother, Malichi. All three of their daughters, Zona, Mattie, and Hattie, were born there. Today, all that remains of the old log house is its foundation and a lone rose bush.

On June 12, 1900,
Henry & Leuiza (Louisa), ages 69 & 31, were renting a farm in Richland Township, Ozark Co, MO. They had been married 15 years; Louisa had given birth to three children: Alzony, age 14 (12); Matty J., 11; & Hatty, 6.

Sometime after June 12, 1900, Henry and Louisa moved to the little town of Bertha, located in Douglas County. Their new home was about six miles north of their old log home in Brixey. Louisa had helped raise Henry and Sarah's children. Now, the youngest, Oliver, was 20 years old and was working in Springfield. Within a few months, their marriage began to deteriorate, and Henry decided he wanted to live alone. He was then approaching his seventieth birthday.

That cold bleak winter day, on February 13, 1902, was forever stamped in Louisa's memory. It was the day before Valentine's Day, one month before they would celebrate their sixteenth wedding anniversary. Alzona was 13; Mattie, 12; and Hattie, 8. Henry forced them to move to another house he had provided and severed all ties to them.
