Elzy rode a train from Missouri with his father and family to homestead in North Dakota.
In North Dakota he repaired train signals for the railroad.
Later in life he had a trucking company in The Great Lakes area.
William Ellziel Craig married Anna May Vaughn on February 25, 1906. Their children were: Lucy Pearl, Opal Marie, Cleitus Francis, Geraldine Virginia, Orele Fern, Sterling William, and Lloyd Charles.

W.E. Craig Dies; Rites in Wisconsin
William E. Craig, 84, 2205 6th Ave. S. , who came to Great
Falls to make his home with a daughter two years ago, died
Tuesday in a local hospital. Craig has been a patient since Oct. 25. Funeral services and burial will be in Superior, Wisconsin. The time and place will be announced later by 0'Conner Funeral Home. Born Jan. 25, 1886 in Missouri, he moved in 1904 to Springbrook, N.D. where he worked for most of his life as a signalman for the Great Northern Railway. He later moved to South Range, Wisconsin where he worked as a carpenter and in a shipyard. He also farmed. He married the former Hazel Fitzpatrick in 1935 in Wisconsin.
She died in 1964. Since then he spent seven.months of each year here until he moved here permanently.
Surviving are the daughter here, Mrs. Richard (Geraldine)
O'Donnell; sons, Lloyd C. of Independence, Mo., and Sterling W. of Fulton, Mo., 26 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and a brother, Berry Marple of Portland, Oregon. Five children
and step-children preceded him in death.
