Sam Kurtovich,of Fresno,held a dragboat world record,hydroplaning at 203 mph and was the first person to drive a drive a ski boat at over 150 mph.Sam raced boats from 1968-1976 and was the National Dragboat Association champion in 1975.Sam also was a member of the Visalia Bench Shooting Association and was club champion in 1984,shooting was most exciting for him.It took quite a bit of physical skill,kind of like playing golf.He would have his good days and his bad days.Sam had said"that boat racing was more mechanical than physical skill"
