She was the third oldest of ten siblings born to Isaac Willis Ray and Agnes Mary Mitchell Ray in Coleman County Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo David Killingsworth, son Jesse David Killingsworth, sister Vivian Nail (Francis), brothers Cecil Ray (Maude), Raymond Ray (Red), Lester Ray (Dorothy), Lowell Ray, and Edwin Ray.
Grace is survived by her daughter Janita Hinds of Del Rio and daughter-in-law Kathy Killingsworth of Terlingua.
Grace was an avid gardener, first by necessity, then by choice as she grew up in a time where if you didn't grow it yourself, you didn't eat. She was a fantastic cook who never let anyone leave her house hungry.
Her love of gardening was exceeded by her love of art. A talented and gifted artist in her own right, this talent and gift was overshadowed by her desire and ability to teach others.
She learned to be a seamstress at an early age. Over the years she designed and made many clothes for family, and friends, as well as herself. She was also a quilter. She made numerous quilts during her 80s. Her intimate knowledge of fabric and the way it folded helped her paint marvelous still life.
As much as Grace loved gardening, sewing and art, her family always came first.
