Born in Williams Township, south of Easton, Northampton Co, Pa, the eldest son of George Adam and Christina. He married Magdelene Stem. It is believed Conrad and his brothers John G. and Nicolas and their families moved to Ohio sometime between 1820 and 1823 and that Nicolas returned to Pa around 1830. John G. settled near Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. However, the 1850 and 1860 census for the NW Ward of the City of Lancaster, Pa. lists Conrad and his son George as living there with all family members being born in Pa. They are both listed as master carpenters.
