__Jack A. King, 76, of 1816 Chandler St. SW, Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in St. Luke's Hospital. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Vicki Standley. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, with military honors.
__Survivors include his wife, Donna; children, Craig (Michelle) King of Sparks, Nev., Jacki King (John Balzer) of Wauwatosa, Wis., and Jeff (Kris) King of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Dani, Reed, Brittani, Stephanie, Taylor and Grant; one great-grandson, Jack; and sister, Carol (Louis) Carsner of Vacaville, Calif.
__Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
__Born Aug. 28, 1932, in Marion, Iowa, Jack was the son of Darrell and Madge (Wood) King. He graduated from Marion High School and attended the University of Dubuque. On Aug. 12, 1951, he was united in marriage to Donna Reed. Jack served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean conflict. For 20 years he worked for Link Belt FMC, retiring in 1985.
__Jack was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Fairfax American Legion Post 572. He also was a lifetime member of Otter Creek Sportsman Club, Amateur Trap Shooting Association and Iowa State Trapshooting Association.
__A memorial fund has been established.
