Daughter of Delmer Newton Saxton and Mary Hawver. Married Twice, first Stephen Downing with whom she had a child, Robert. Second she married John I. Woodcock with whom she's buried.

Della Saxton Downing Woodcock
Mrs. Della (Saxton) Downing Woodcok passed away at 10 o'clock Wednesday evening of last week at her home on East Main Street, after several months of ill health. She had been confined to bed only three weeks. Death was caused by heart trouble and complications.
She was born in Morris September 5, 1870, a daughter of Mary (Hawver) and Delmar Saxton. Her earlier life was spent in milford, but at the age of Sixteen she went to Ohio, where she attended the Jefferson Educational institute at Jefferson, of which she was a graduate.
She was twice married. December 16, 1891, she married D. Stephen Downing of Jefferson, who died in 1901. One son, Robert S. Downing, was born of this union. In 1908, she returned to Milford and August 30th of that year was married to John I. Woodcock of this village who survives.
Her life in the community had been one of unselfish devotion to others. Possessing a rare sense of humor and unusual dramatic ability, she added much enjoyment to all social activities. She was interested in all worth-while undertakings and humanitarian endeavors.
She was a member of the Congregational church of Jefferson, O., but since her residence here had been an active worker in the Methodist church and Ladies' Aid society. She was also a member of the Home Bureau here. Not only will her loss be keenly felt in the home, but in the community as well.
Surviving, besides the husband, are one son, Robert S. Downing, Plattsburg; two sisters, Mrs. Lynn Stiles, Cooperstown, and mrs. clara Taylor, Schuyler Lake; one grandchild, Peter Sharron Downing, Plattsburg; three nephews, Elbert Stiles, and LEtson Stiles of Cooperstown, and Harold Taylor, Sag Harobr, L.I. and several cousins.
The funeral was held Saturday afternoon from the Tillapaugh Funeral home. The Rev. W.J. Brown, pastor of the Methodist church officiated and burial was in the Westville cemetery. Bearers were E.H. Rider, F.L. Platt, Ivan Kilpatirck, W.C. MCRorie, M>B. Armstrong and Guy Eckler. Among those from away who attended the funeral were Mrs. Clara Taylor, Schuyler Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Letson STiles and son Letson Jr., Mrs. Kenneth Webb, Jay Saxton, Harold Saxton, Mrs. Webb Chamberlain, Mr. and mrs. Earl Chase and Mr. and mrs. Bet Winsor, all of Cooperstown; Karl Green, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ottaway, Ernest Jewell and Mrs. George Dubben, all of Westville; Mrs. Edward Reynolds, Blyden Hawver, and Miss Bernice Saxton, Oneonta; Mrs. Lena Brown and miss frances Best, Unadilla; and mrs. Forest Arnold of Schenevus.
