Mr. Gallier was born on Monday, April 15, 1918, in Fannett, Texas, to parents Jacob S. and Roxie Ann (Mitchell) Gallier. He grew up and attended school in Fannett, Texas.
On Dec. 14, 1943, he and Lillian F. Tepera were married at St. Monica Church in Cameron, Texas, and made their home in Maysfield. In 1956, they relocated to Madras, where Mr. Gallier worked as a mechanic at the Main Street Chevrolet Garage for 30 years until his retirement in 1985.
After his retirement, the couple moved to Sherwood. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 14, 2003.
Mr. Gallier was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Sherwood. His special interests included doing woodworking, and he built feeders for the squirrels he loved to feed. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian Gallier of Sherwood; her daughter, Loretta Hoehna of Tigard; sons, Renford Gallier of Tacoma, Wash., and Lawrence Gallier of Des Moines, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Angelia, Carissa, Toby, Randy, Adam, Preston, and Theresa; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews, Tom and Mike; and those who have come to know a appreciate him where he has lived and worked.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence Radford Gallier, and his sister, Celia (Gallier) Blakly.
Funeral services were held Dec. 11, in Attrell's Sherwood Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father Tom McCarthy. A private committal will be at St. Luke's Cemetery in Woodburn.
