Mr. Huiet was born April 4, 1856 in Montgomery county, Ohio, and came to Indiana in 1871. He was married to Viola Bodkin in September 1877. She died in 1928. He was the son of Joseph and Susan Brown Huiet, and was one of six children; two brothers, Henry and Daniel and three sisters, Estrella, Laura, and Candace, all preceded him in death.
Mr. Huiet spent 14 years on a farm 8 miles south of Wabash, moving to Grant county where he lived for 6 years. He also resided for a time in Huntington county. He had made his home for some time with his daughter, Mrs. Earl Urschel, McKibben Street who survives together with five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was an active member of the Townsend club.
