Louise Wheeler, 94, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice). She was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mattie [Raulerson] Harrington and a lifelong resident of Lake City. She was a loving wife, mother, great and great great grandmother who enjoyed shopping, and being at home, cooking, tending her garden, and sewing. She attended Christian Heritage Church and loved the fellowship she had there with her church family.
She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Maxie Wheeler, her sons, Maxie K. Wheeler and Monroe Wheeler; brothers, Leonard, M.V., and Vernon Harrington and her sister, Mildred Roettger.
Survivors include her caring husband of 20 years, Leon Larson; her daughters, Mary L. (Al) LaFaye of St. Johns, FL and Melissa Wheeler of Bronson, FL; brother, Albert James Harrington of Lake City, FL; 10 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
