Benjamin F. Minton died at the home of his mother in Randol Township at an early hour Sunday morning, after a short illness with chronic intestinal nephritis. the funeral was held this afternoon at Pleasant Hill Presbyterian church near Fruitland.
"Ben Minton," as he was familiarly known, was born near Egypt Mills on January 18, 1860, and was therefore 59 years, 11 months and 23 days of age at his death. After the death of his father, his mother remarried, and the family moved in the Leemon neighborhood where Ben grew to manhood. He followed farming for years, but for a decade or longer he has been in the employ of the Frisco railroad, stationed at Archie, Mo. A few days before Christmas he arrived here to spend the holidays with relatives, and it was to be his last visit. He became ill and it was soon seen that the end had come.
Besides his aged mother, Mrs. Antonia Story, one brother, A.C. Minton of the Rock Hill neighborhood, survives him, also three half-brothers, Jesse Story of Pueblo, Colorado, and Edward and Paul Story, at home with their mother. He was never married.
