Ruth was baptized when she was young in the Baptist Church. After her
marriage to Paul, she converted to Catholicism. She was baptized by the Rev.
John M. Cody, July 14, 1939.

Ruth received her nursing training at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Beaumont, Tx.on May 10, 1937 and her RN on October 7, 1937.
She and Paul dated during the four years of her training and were married after she graduated on May 6, 1939.. Aunt Maude Adair had agreed to pay for Ruth's training as long as she did not get married. This is why they had such a long courtship. During her teens, Ruth lived with Aunt Maude in Chillicothe, Ohio

Ruth died in St. John's Hospital in San Angelo, Tx. She was admitted the evening before at about 10PM. St. John's was where she had worked after moving to San Angelo in 1947 until 1963.
