"Beloved husband, father and grandfather Clarence William Newson, Sr., died Nov. 2, 1977, at home of a heart attack.

Born Sept. 28, 1906, Salt Lake City, to Charles and Susan Annie Smith Newson. Married Margaret Elizabeth Sollis Sept. 24, 1927, Salt Lake City. Member, LDS church.

Survivors; widow, three sons and five daughters, Clarence W. Jr., Charter Oaks, Calif.; Mrs. George (Jean) Vander Meyden, Murray; Mrs. Kenneth (Carol) Yates, Midvale; Mrs. Grant (Elaine) Huston, Taylorsville; Mrs. Reed (Shirley) Wall, Woods Cross; James E. (Margie), Bountiful; Earl D. (Diane) Taylorsville; Mrs. Danny (Mary) Van Wagenen, Granger; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Annie Huggard, Taylorsville; Ruth Marie Lloyd, Granger.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., McDougal funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Rd., where friends may call Friday, 6-8 pm.m., and Saturday one hour prior to services."

Siblings who preceded him in death: Robert C., Sidney G., Frederick M., Charles E., Avery B., Louis S., Daisy L. Newson; Alice Newson Knox.
