Civil War: Company H, 1st California Infantry

John Tully enlisted as a private at San Francisco, California, August 17, 1861, and was mustered into Company H, 1st California Infantry, at the Presidio of San Francisco. Private Tully was posted to New Mexico Territory where he died of stomach disease at Fort Craig, March 16, 1864, and was buried in the post cemetery. His remains were reinterred to this cemetery in March 1876.
