LORAIN — Rafael A. Lebron, 84, of Lorain, passed away Thursday June 18, 2009 at the New Life Hospice of St. Joseph in Lorain, following a relatively short illness.
He was born in Quebradillas Puerto Rico on April 15, 1925 and had been a resident of Lorain for 18 years. Rafael was a self-employed auto mechanic. He loved cars, especially old cars, socializing with his friends, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Nelinda (nee Gonzalez), sons, Roberto (Ada) Lebron of Lorain, Rafael A. (Nora) Lebron of Brooklyn, New York and Jose M, (Ileana) Lebron of Utica New York, daughters, Lydia (Josue) Perez of Utica New York and Johana Lebron of Elizabeth New Jersey, 11 grandchildren, brothers, Victor Lebron of New York and Seferino, Tato, Mario and Miguel Lebron, all of Puerto Rico, sisters, Fany Lebron and Milagro Lebron, both of Puerto Rico, and Sista Lebron of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Lebron (1992), sister, Nelinda Lebron and his parents, Gregorio and Consuelo (nee Perez) Lebron.
Friends may call Monday June 22, 2009 from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM at Wyers Funeral Chapel 2900 North Ridge Road
Sheffield Township. Deacon Jose Flores of Sacred Heart Chapel in Lorain will officiate.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
