Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Baynes Baptist Church cemetery, Caswell County.
A native of Alamance County, he was retired from AT&T, was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Seniors Golf Club, the Telephone Pioneers of America, and was a deacon at his church.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Bernice Aldridge Ray; sons, Kenneth Ray of Raleigh, Darrell Ray of Melbourne, Fla., Eric Ray of Burlington; sister, Mrs. Kathryn Roney of Haw River; brother, Carl Ray of Haw River; three grandsons.
