U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Fordham University in 1932, from law school in 1935, was admitted to the bar in 1936 and began a law practice in Brooklyn, New York. He was a member of the New York Assembly at the outbreak of World War II, enlisted in the US Navy, serving four years overseas and was discharged in 1946. After the war, he remained in the Naval Reserve, was promoted Commander and was Assistant Attorney General, State of New York, (1946-50). In 1953, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-third Congress and to the next three succeeding Congresses, serving until 1961. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he continued to practice law was as the owner of the F.E.D. Concrete Company until his death at age 76. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
