He was preceeded in death by both parents and his wife Helen Elizabeth Leonard Collins; two sisters Lillie Maude Bonsall and Blanche Otley Washington; and five brothers, Frank Monroe, Paul Clifton, James Thomas, William Sterling, John Pershing. He is survived by his (step) children Bobbi (Eddie) Cecil, Bill Martin of Virginia, and Glenn (Martha) Martin of Franklinville, 1 brother Lewis Monroe (Imogene) Collins of Roanoke Rapids, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. He was a member of St Paul's Methodist Church in Greensboro. He loved to "grow" things in his garden. He was well known at St. Paul's Church and Bessemer Elementary for bringing buckets of vegetables to give away. He is missed by all who knew him. (bio by Bobbi Cecil)
