Imogene "Jean" Henning Wills, 80, died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland.
Visitation is 5-8 pm today at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 2 pm Friday, June 26, 2009 at Crape Creek Baptist Church in Stewart with burial in the church cemetery. The family will also receive friends 12-2 pm Friday at the church.
Jean was born May 26, 1929, in Montgomery County. She retired from Redmond School District, Redmond, Washington and was a member of the Redmond Baptist Church. Jean was also an active member of the Pink Ladies of River Oaks Hospital until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wills; parents, Monroe and Mavis Henning; and sister, Arlene Pearson.
Survivors include sons, Freddie Wills (Julie) of Woodinville, WA and Billy Wills of Mendenhall; granddaughter, Melissa Roe (David) of Renton, WA; great-granddaughter, Emily Roe of Renton, WA; sisters, Ruth Gregg of Grenada, Gwen Richardson of Mathiston, Lillian Suber of Ackerman, Patsy Barton and Peggy Reed, both of Winona; brothers, Richard Henning of Kosciusko, Cecil Henning of Mantee, Tommy Henning of Itta Bena, Ed and Barney Henning, both of Winona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean is also survived by many friends and neighbors in Pearl, to whom she was affectionately known as "Mama Jean".
Pallbearers are Bill Carson, Warren Henning, Stevie Suber, David Burton, Jason Threet, Kyle Williams and Benjie Shearer.
