She was a German television personality, and the daughter of playwright Bertolt Brecht. Raised in various places in Europe by her mother, opera singer Marianne Zoff, who had been Brecht's first wife, she was trained as an actress and dancer. Her professional debut came in the 1941 play "Mrs. Luna"; from the early 1950s thru her 1976 retirement, she appeared in numerous German television productions, including two of her father's works "St. Joan of the Stockyards" and "Senora Carrar's Rifles". After leaving show business, she promoted Brecht's works, and was active in various pacifist causes. In 1995, Hiob was awarded the Aachen Peace Prize, and in 1997 she participated in the documentary "A Hundred Years of Brecht".
