Thomas Eugene Barnett, 32, of Georgetown, died Tuesday in the Veteran's Hospital
In Columbia SC after an illness of several days.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the graveside in Elmwood Cemetery Annex.
Officiating was the Rev. O.L. Moore, pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Burial was directed by Mayer Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnett was born Feb, 13, 1928, at Griffin, Georgia; son of George M. Barnett and
Mrs. Mattie Mathews Barnett Teal. He was educated in the schools of Porterdale, Georgia
And served in the Navy during World War II. Since his discharge from service, he has spent
most of his life in Georgetown. At the time of his death he was employed in construction
work at International Paper Company.

Surviving are his widow, the former Miss. Edna Lambert; two sons, Daniel Lee Barnett and
Tony Barnett; two daughters, Nancy Barnett and Stella Ann Barnett, of Georgetown; his
Father of Porterdale, Georgia; his mother of Columbus, Georgia; a brother James M. Barnett of Atlanta; and three half-brothers and five half-sisters.
