"Thomas Henry Parton, the second son of Thomas and Nellie Parton, was born in Maysville, Missouri, May 25, 1908, and departed this life at the home of his parents December 25, 1926, at the age of 18 years and 7 months.

It will be remembered he was taken to the hospital some 7 weeks ago and was operated on for mastoids, of which he never recovered. All that loving and early hands could do for him was done, but to no avail, and on Christmas day between 3 and 4 o'clock, he went home to his Maker.

Tommy, as he was called by his friends and parents, was a loveable, obedient son, a kind and loving brother, and was loved by all.

He leaves to mourn his going a loving father and mother, 6 brothers and 4 sisters as follows: Clarence, Frank, Joseph, Willie, James, Everett, Maude, Gladys, Irene and Adeline, all at home.

Funeral services were conducted at the home Monday afternoon, December 27, by Edwin Riddle, pastor of the Maysville Baptist Church. Burial was in the Maysville Cemetery." DeKalb County Herald (Maysville, Missouri), December 30, 1926
