St. Peter -- Frank J. Pfeifer, 87, St. Peter, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 1989, at the Graham County Hospital, Hill City.

Mr. Pfeifer was born Oct. 20, 1901, in Victoria and had been a lifetime resident of St. Peter.

He was a retired service station owner. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, both of St. Peter.

His wife, Catherine, died in 1985. Survivors include five sons, Albert, Clarence, Allen and Lloyd, all of St. Peter, and Alvin of Aurora, Colo.; four daughters, Helen Zimmerman of Grainfield, Pauline Zerr of Grinnell, Caroline Flax of WaKeeney and Catherine Heirer of Penokee; four brothers, Joe of' Ness City, Pete of Portland, Ore., Mike of WaKeeney and John of Morland; a sister, Mary Pfeifer of Hays; 58 grandchildren; and 82 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Peter, the Rev. Steve Heina officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery, St. Peter. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at the church or Knights of Columbus hall. Visitation is from 4 p.m. today until service time at the same location. The Spencer Chapel, Hill City, is in charge of arrangements.
