He was born July 13, 1913, in Cedar Township, Knox County, and married Bernice Chance on Feb 9, 1935, at Galesburg.
He worked as a carpenter for 25 years in the Galesburg area, and attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church there. He had been an Abingdon resident all his life.
Surviving are two sons, David of Abingdon and Michael of Galesburg; three brothers, Lawrence and Leo both of Abingdon, and Robert of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. Emory (Helen) Flynn, Gilson, and Mrs. Leland (Jeanne) Witsitt, Knoxville, and three grandchildren.
Funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Galesburg. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Galesburg. Friends may call Wednesday at Larson Funeral Home, Abingdon, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
