Lewis was the son of Peter HUFFORD who was born about 1801; the father of Peter is not known.
Lewis married Jennie in about 1869. They had two children: Mary and Daisy.
For the 1900 census, he and wife Jennie were living in Kingston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
Lewis' siblings (or half-siblings) included the following Huffords: Jeffrey, James, Peter, Caroline, Mary, Millard F., Frank, and Fremont.
NOTE: According to records at the cemetery, this grave site and grave marker washed away in the Hurricane Agnes flood on June 23, 1972. However, the person who took the photo of Lewis' grave marker reported that he took the photograph in 2009, and he saw nothing amiss in the area around the grave stone.
