|Birth: ||Jan. 8, 1778|
|Death: ||Oct. 23, 1857|
Daughter of Rev. Timothy Alden and Sarah Weld Alden of Yarmouth,MA.
Children: Oliver Alden Taylor, Myra Taylor, Sarah Taylor Sproat, Martha Taylor Hamlin, Mary Fox Taylor, Timothy Alden Taylor, Rufus Taylor, Mary Joyce Taylor, Myra Taylor Russell, and Jeremiah Taylor Jr.
Although raising her family alone as a widow, she gave her children the example of true Christian influence. After Mr. Taylor died on their farm in Hawley, Mrs. Taylor and the children bought a small home in Bozrah, the first house on the road to Charlemont after passing where the old church stood. When Mrs. Taylor became too feeble to walk the mile and a quarter to church, she sold the Bozrah house and with the help of her sons, she bought a little cottage close to the church. This house had been formerly occupied by Mr. Sanford. The diary of Rev. Seymour, the pastor of the church, mentions "meeting in the evening at the home of Widow Taylor because she was too feeble to attend church. His diary frequently mentions these meetings which were held after he had preached twice in the church on the same day. Mrs. Taylor died at the home of her son-in-law, Dea. Freeman Hamlin at Plainfield, Mass.
