Berget Moy Swanson was born July 9, 1874 to parents Gunder and Gundor Moy in Settesdal, Norway. She came to the United States with her family as a child. Berget was united in marriage to Nels Swanson in 1891. They were charter members of Asphult Lutheran Church. They homesteaded and farmed in Hill River Township and later homesteaded in Clearwater county. After retiring from farming, Mrs Swanson resided in McIntosh, MN and for nearly three years lived in Mac Manor nursing home.
