On Friday, October 10, 2003, God walked through the garden, selected and took with him one of the most beautiful flowers. Alice Logan Bradley departed this life at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA, transferring from labor to reward.
The daughter of the late Weldon Logan and Pearl Scott Logan, was born June 23, 1928 in Powhatan County, VA.
Alice received her education in the Powhatan County Public School System. She was employed in the State Police building for many years.
On February 9, 1947, she was joined in holy matrimony to Raymond Cleveland Bradley, Sr. To this union were born four daughters, one stillborn, and six sons. Alice was preceded in death by two sons, Raymond C. Bradley, Jr. and Wayne A. Bradley; two brothers, Randolph Logan and Weldon Logan, Jr. and a great-grandson, Shuron Jamison.
Alice joined Greenbrier Baptist Church many years ago. Later on in life, she attended Future Church of Christ and Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Alice confessed her salvation years ago. With the struggles of life her faith was not what it should have been. Praise be to God on October 7, 2003 late in the midnight hour, Alice called out "I want Jesus" and gave her life back to the Master.
Through the years Alice was known for her sense of humor. Hanging out with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who called her "Granny".
Left to cherish her memories are her three daughters, Mary Jones (Glen), Anna Johnson (Taylor), and Victoria Rudd; four sons, Aaron (Delores), Chico (Loretta), Robert (Venita) and Wade Bradley (Patricia); 29 grandchildren two of whom she reared, David Anderson and Jermaine Bradley; 27 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Melody Bradley and Brenda Bradley; seven sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law, Franklin Bradley; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, devoted friends Shirley Walton, Evelyn Woolridge, Mabel Bell, Rosetta Smothers, Doris Rudd and Terrence Barnes.
