David Taylor Lovelace, 61, of Dresden, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson. Services were held 2 pm Tuesday at Bible Union Baptist Church, Martin with Bro. Terry Griffin officiating. Burial was in Sunset Cemetery with Bowlin Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. Danny Taylor, Bob Melton, Art Giffin, David Sutherland, Jim Dema, and Jerry Redden served as pallbearers.
Lovelace was born in Lansing, Mich, son of the late RT and Louise Taylor Lovelace Garner. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a truck driver for ACE Trucking in Jackson. He was a member of Bible Union Baptist Church where he served as head usher and coordinator of the Family Life Center.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Bowlin Lovelace of Dresden; one daughter, April Lovelace of Calif.; three stepdaughters, Teresa (David) Sutherland and Julie Stehl, both of Jackson and Sandra (Jim) Dema of Benton, Ky.; one son, Dave Lovelace of Calif.; one sister, Sherry Harris of Martin; one brother, Leonard (Pat) Lovelace of Helam, Pa.; two grandchildren, Adam Sutherland and Drew Sutherland.
