Born May 27, 1929 in Rush County, he was the son of Edward and Florence (Cole) Tellas. He married Dorthy M. Rowland Aug. 8, 1948; she survives.
Mr. Tellas retired from Perfect Circle (Dana Corp.) in Rushville in 1984 after 28 years as an electrician and maintenance technician. He was the American Softball Association Commissioner for 20 years and enjoyed being a referee of softball, baseball and basketball for 40 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Raleigh High School.
Survivors include his wife, Dorthy M. Tellas of Glenwood; sons, Thomas E. (Pam) of Rushville and John A. (Cindy) of Milroy; daughter, Rachel (Raymond G.) Swigart of Glenwood; sister, Luanna (Marlin) Newkirk of Falmouth; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Robert; and daughter, Rebecca Bastin.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Moster Mortuary in Rushville with Tony Augsburger officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
