Lois was Born in Snyder, Texas to Frederick V and Catherine K. (Ayers)Clark. She married George W. Carter on July 12, 1930 in Duke, Oklahoma. She moved to Lubbock from Memphis in 1936 and to Lorenzo in 1952. Survivors include her husband, George; son, George C. Jr. of Lubbock; three daughters, Mary Lynne Wetmore of Denver, Colorado; Kay Cates of Arlington; Karen Thompson of Lorenzo; a brother, John Clark of Sherman; two sisters, Frances Nail of Austin and Bobbie Beavers of Comey, Kansas; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were held at the First Baptist church with the Rev. Bill Lacy, pastor and the Rev. Fred Meeks, former pastor, officiating.
Interment at the Lorenzo Cemetery at the direction of Carter-Adams Funeral home.
Mrs. Carter passed away on Monday, 27 November, 1978, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, surrounded by her loving family.
