Gerald F. White, 85, of 721 Congress St., died Saturday at his home.
Mr. White operated a dairy farm on Madrid-Lisbon Road and also was a school bus driver for Madrid Central School. He then operated the Alcoa bus in the Canton, Madrid and Massena areas and was employed at Diamond International.
Born Oct. 10, 1915, in Lisbon, son of Leon and Florence Fleming White , he attended Madrid High School, where he was known for his skill in basketball and track and field competition.
He married Margaret Rebideau on Oct. 10, 1935, in St. Mary's rectory with the Rev. V.N. Zimmerman officiating.
Mr. White was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Barney Pond Hunting Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, three daughters, five sisters, two brothers, 20 grandchildren, 36 great- grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two brothers, Raymond and Robert, and two sisters, Avis Donaldson Maneely and Eunice Cryderman, died before him.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Fox-McLellan Funeral Home with the Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
