The funeral for Gene C. White, 74, formerly of 6 Morris St., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Buck Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Lenz officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
Mr. White died Saturday morning in Community Nursing Home, Potsdam.
He served with the Army during the Korean War and was an installer and repairman with New York Telephone Co. until his retirement in 1988, after 45 years.
Born Sept. 30, 1926, in Carthage, son of Floyd and Dorothy Blackman White , he was a graduate of Carthage High School and married Gwendolyn Garnsey on Oct. 9, 1948, at First Baptist Church, Carthage, with the Rev. Earl E. Chanley officiating.
He was a member of New York Telephone Pioneers and a 25-year member of the National Ski Patrol.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, two daughters, a brother, three sisters, four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Two brothers, Martin and Carl, died before him.
