Agnes L. Wells, 74, of 811 Elizabeth St., died Friday in the emergency room of Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.
Mrs. Wells and her husband, Arthur, operated a dairy farm in the town of Lisbon from 1948 to 1963, when they moved to her present home. She was manager of the lunch counter at the former F.W. Woolworth Department Store. She was employed by Sir-Tech Inc. for several years, and did housecleaning for Fox Funeral Home for more than 10 years.
She was born July 22, 1924, at Fort Covington, daughter of Frank and Phoebe Jock Premo. She married Arthur J. Wells on Aug. 30, 1941, at St. Mary's Church, Massena. He died Oct. 19, 1985.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral and a member of Amvets, and was well -known for her volunteer work in Ogdensburg.
Surviving are two sons, two daughters, two sisters, five brothers, 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Three sisters, Irene Sharples, Betty Sebring and Mary Durant, and four brothers, Harold, Raymond, Donald and Karl Premo, died before her.
A prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Fox Funeral Home followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral. Burial will follow in Foxwood Memorial Park.
