Ronald C. Weir, 60, of 40 Justina St., died Saturday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg.
Mr. Weir taught science at Ogdensburg Free Academy for 28 years, retiring in June 2001.
Born Oct. 27, 1946, in Heuvelton, son of Colin and Hester Bailey Weir , he graduated from Heuvelton Central School.
He attended Potsdam State Teachers College, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in chemistry and a master's degree in secondary education for chemistry. He also received a master's degree in school administration from St. Lawrence University, Canton.
He married Ellen J. Richardson on Oct. 30, 1965, at First Presbyterian Church, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Thomas T. Patterson officiating.
Mr. Weir was a member of Heuvelton Knights of Columbus, Heuvelton Lions Club and the American Chemical Society.
Surviving besides his mother, of Ogdensburg, and his wife are a son and his wife, Scott and Katina, Constantia; two grandchildren, an aunt, an uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
His father and a cousin died before him.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Raphael's Church with the Rev. Jay W. Seymour officiating. Entombment will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
