Theodore H. Van Dyke, 79, of 435 Front St., died Monday in the emergency room at Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. He had been in failing health for several months.
Mr. Van Dyke was a carpenter on area construction sites.
Born Dec. 29, 1919, son of Roy and Doris Beatty Van Dyke, he graduated from Rensselaer Falls High School and served in the Army during World War II.
He married Arvilla Shaw on May 20, 1945, at Rensselaer Falls.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, a brother, and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 7 at Foxwood Memorial Park chapel, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Elizabeth Masters officiating.
