Arvilla L. VanDyke, 79, Old DeKalb Road, formerly of Rensselaer Falls, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. VanDyke was a chief clerk in the comptroller's office of St. Lawrence University for 37 years, retiring in 1985. She worked with accounts payable.
She was a member of the Rensselaer Falls Bridge Club and Rensselaer Falls Methodist Church. She enjoyed making silk flower arrangements.
Born Feb. 24, 1924, in Montpelier, Vt., she was raised by foster parents, George and Grace Phillips, and graduated from Rensselaer Falls High School.
She married Theodore VanDyke on May 20, 1945 , at the home of her foster parents in Rensselaer Falls with the Rev. Roger C. Marmon officiating. Mr. VanDyke died Dec. 27, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, a sister, a brother, two foster brothers, two grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at noon Tuesday at Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg, with the Rev. Ann Marsh officiating.
