David Worth Koiner, who had been in falling health for the past year, quietly passed away at his residence on Bell's Lane at 4:55 o'clock Thursday morning.
Mr. Koiner was a native of Augusta County, of which he was a life-long resident; a son of Franklin and Sarah Stiegle Koiner, and was born April 27, 1852.
Surviving Mr. Koiner are the following: daughters, Misses Pearle V. and E. Katherine Koiner, at home; sons, William W. and H. Worth, of the city and county, respectively; also one brother, Edward Koiner, of Deerfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Chas. W. Houseman, of Staunton and Mrs. William Koiner, of Waynesboro.
The funeral will be held this afternoon at three o'clock from Christ Lutheran church, Staunton, with interment in Thornrose cemetery. He had been a member since 1873, having united with the church while attending the Polytechnic Institute at New Market.
During his younger life Mr. Koiner was active in the work of his church, being an officer a number years at St. James Lutheran church near Fisherville.
