Funeral services for Ronald F. Bellinger, age 70, of the Horseshoe Road in Heuvelton, will be held on Monday June 15, 2009 beginning with calling hours at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. at the Fox-McLellan Funeral Home, Ogdensburg, with Mr. Robert Todd officiating. Entombment will follow at Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
Mr. Bellinger passed away Thursday evening at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg surrounded by his family. Arrangements are with the Fox-McLellan Funeral Home.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beatrice Bellinger; two sons, Donald Bellinger and his wife Michele of Ogdensburg, and Ronald Bellinger and his wife Pam of Heuvelton; two daughters, Lisa Gushea and her husband Michael of Heuvelton and Becky Bellinger and her companion Duane Downing of Macomb; a sister, Nancy Hurley of Maryland; eight grandchildren, Benjamin Gushea, Deanna Bellinger, Katherin and Joseph Crawford, Michael and Todd St. Dennis, all of Heuvelton, and Benjamin and Tabitha McKeever of Ogdensburg; six great-grandchildren, Esther, Mason, Michael, Alexis, Brianna and Jarred; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ronald was born on December 15, 1938 in Ogdensburg, a son of the late Cecil and Mabel (Martin) Bellinger. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1956 and entered the National Guard where he served for 8 years.
On July 16, 1960 he was married to Beatrice Trombly in Heuvelton before Rev. Wrighter.
At the age of 17, he went to work at the Standard Shade Roller, where he was employed until 1960 when he began to operate the family farm until 1987. He then began working in the maintenance department at the Heuvelton United Helpers ICF for a few years until becoming employed as a part-time driver for the Community Development Program until 2007.
He was a member the Antique Tractor Association and enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, gardening, working and spending time with his family.
Memorial contributions can be made in Ronald's memory to the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center.
