Emma Pearl Lane, 79, Blythedale, died Monday, May 18, 2009. She was born November 1, 1929 in Casper, WY, the daughter of Jake and Minnie (Carter) Johnston.

On May 1, 1948, she married Roscoe D. Lane in Bethany, MO. He survives at the home.
Emma was a homemaker. She was a member of the Auxilliary of the Missouri and National Rural Letter Carriers. Emma was the state chaplain for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband are daughters, Margaret (Ed) Trullinger, Afton, IA, Nancy (Jack) Baker, Grant City, MO and Susan (John) Patten, Omaha, NE; Sons, Michael (Dianne) Lane, Ankeny, IA Daniel (Diana) Lane, Solon, IA and Allan (Ellen) Lane, St. Joseph, MO; Sisters, Dorothy (Harold) Huitt, Ridgeway, MO and Lola Adams, Winsor, CO; Brother, Elmer (Edna) Johnston, Des Moines, IA; 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lloyd Johnston and Otis Johnston and sister, Alta Fullerton.
